Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT

>> (ENG) “Few cars can match the Alfa 1600 for sheer driving pleasure, and it will amply reward the driver who gives it his undivided attention” (Car & Driver). _ _ _ Unveiled in 1963, the Giulia Sprint GT featured an attractive four-seat body, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. Although the car was not built at Bertone, rather at the new Alfa Romeo-factory in Arese. Under the sheet-metal of the new coupé were a five-speed manual gearbox, an independent front suspension, a rigid coil-sprung rear axle and (except on the very first ones) the four-wheel discs (that had recently been introduced on the 105-series Giulia TI saloon). The Sprint GT could deliver 106 bhp (compared to just 92 for the TI) thanks to twin-Weber carburetors, with enough power to reach a top speed of 180 km/h. Modified intake ducts characterized the more powerful engine of the GTV Sprint (with V for Veloce), introduced in 1965 and boasting 109bhp. Designed for driving pleasure, the Sprint-range was a huge success for Alfa Romeo, with production lasting fourteen years until 1977. _ _ _ We present you a 1966 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT, powered by the 1.6-liter 4-cylinder twin-cam. This classic is a 2 owners car only, since new. Purchased at Alfa Romeo in Paris on the 15th of February 1966. The original invoice is still present with the car (! something rare to come across). Four years later this car was purchased by her second owner in Paris, who kept it up until now, for 50 years (and we have just purchased from her). _ _ _ Finished in the original shade of gray with the classic yellow headlights, this vintage sportscoupé presents well and her body showing signs of age gives it a nice patina. The interior is magnificent in both beautiful and original condition, finished in burgundy leather. Complete with the vintage user manual, original service book, invoice & delivery ticket, etc. Mechanically she is a “starting & driving” car, but could use some love to turn it back to full splendor.
