Description
Attention: Statue is damaged on the back - damage visible on the photos ;
Replica - not an original - Artist Josef Weigl (2014) ;
Height of the statue: approx. 5m ;

k. u. k. Ulan, supported on sabre, c. 1914/15 (replica)
Kaan studied sculpture at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts and became a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus in 1896.
At the beginning of the war, he was drafted into the Infantry Regiment No. 4 "Hoch- und Deutschmeister". He asked to be admitted to the Austro-Hungarian War Press Headquarters (KPQ), to which he finally belonged from 3 July 1917.
However, he had already made the Uhlan figure reproduced here as a reference piece for inclusion in the KPQ.
