Description
42 km south of Leipzig, lies the monumental "Zembschen Wasserturm" with accompanying building. Both the water tower and the building are registered as monuments and once belonged to a lignite mine.
The project was built in 1913 and provided Hohenmolsen with water until 1975. The land of approx. 3698 m2 offers enough space for a beautiful large garden, a spacious parking lot and the possibility to realize a terrace with lunchroom.
The water tower itself offers opportunities to visit as a place of interest and has space to display a historical overview, for example. The main building consists of a large number of rooms of different sizes and is also ideal for eventually functioning as a B&B or hotel.
Under the building is an immense cellar and there are parts of the building that "still need to be discovered". The building has one floor more at the front than at the back, because it is built on a hill. The view is therefore magnificent.
Because it is a monument, there are extensive possibilities to apply for subsidies regarding the renovation.
In the area are a large number of beautiful walking and nice cycling routes. The culturally interesting town of Weissenfels is 14 km away. Several museums and castles are located here.
The "Mondsee", a lake with its beach and leisure facilities for everyone, is a few kilometers away.
Both Leizig and Weissenfels are also easy to reach by bus.
In short, a project with countless possibilities.
