Index Type K 150 i Capsule Filler for Powder This is an automatic Capsule Filler suitable for filling hard gelatine capsules at a maximum speed of 100,000 capsules per hour. It comprises a cabinet which houses the various operating stations. Empty capsules are placed in a stainless steel hopper mounted above an automatic capsule sorter. The capsules are fed down into orientation blocks (16 at a time) which ensure they are the correct way up when placed into the capsule transfer holders. Empty capsules are sucked downwards from the holders into the carriers were they are separated by vacuum leaving the upper half in the carriers whilst the lower capsule half is registered into a bush. Powder to be filled is placed into a stainless steel hopper with a horizontal stirrer, which keeps the powder agitated. A worm screw collects a precisely controlled amount of powder and transfers it onto a Dosing Disk. The powder is transferred from the dosing disk by piston which pushes it into the lower half of the capsule. Empty or damaged capsules are detected and automatically discharged. After filling, the upper parts of the capsules are repositioned above the lower halves and are then closed. The filled and closed capsules are ejected pneumatically and leave the machine across a chute. The holders are then cleaned before indexing round for next empty capsules to be inserted. The machine housing incorporates the gear train and the drive unit and is accessed via removable panels on all sides. Additionally, the operating area is enclosed within safety guards. All operator controls are grouped in an Operator Touch Panel at the right-hand side of the machine. The Index K 150 i is currently fitted with formats for capsule sizes 0 and 4 for Powder. An external supply of compressed air is required. Machine is in working condition.
