Description
On offer is a 3-storey medieval house in the town centre of Montmorillon (Vienne department), directly opposite the church garden of the magnificent monumental Église Saint-Martial. From the house you can walk straight into the tourist center with nice squares and many restaurants and shops.

The building is a corner house and is surrounded by streets on 3 sides (street back/along the side is car-free). It used to be 2 separate houses and has 3 entrances and 3 postal addresses. The house is characterized by a unique spiral staircase and an antique monumental well at the rear (the well does not belong to the house itself).
The 12 meter deep main house has a front and rear entrance and has a hall, large oak kitchen, bathroom with shower and separate toilet, and at the front a 21 m2 living room with built-in wood stove. All windows and exterior doors on the ground floor have electric shutters. The living room has a full basement and has good headroom. From the living room, the characteristic spiral staircase is accessible to both the basement and upper floors. The upper floor has 2 large bedrooms and a small en-suite bathroom. The attic has 2 large unfurnished (bed) rooms, and is partly so high that an extra floor or loft can be realized.

It is clear that the house needs some renovations. The department of Vienne currently offers far-reaching subsidies for this, from 50 to even 100% for private occupancy and from 60-70% for a (holiday) rental property! If you are going to live in the house yourself, you will also receive a purchase subsidy of 7000 euros. In addition, everyone can still claim 4500 euros for façade renovations, and 0% renovation loans or micro-credits are also possible. For more information about this, see the attached information leaflet and contact the implementing authorities.
