GroeNoord

GroeNoord

In February 2025, the agricultural community of the Netherlands lost a trusted name. GroeNoord B.V., the John Deere dealer with 19 branches in the northeast, filed for bankruptcy after rising costs and shrinking margins left it unable to continue.

The decision marked the end of decades of service to farmers, gardeners, and contractors. With no restart possible, the company’s vast inventory was prepared for auction through Troostwijk.

From tractors, harvesters, and tillage machines to garden equipment, spare parts, and workshop tools, the sale was extensive. “GroeNoord was a major player with an impressive inventory,” said Sjoerd Baars, insolvency coordinator at Troostwijk. “We expect international interest.”

The auctions, organized branch by branch, began in April 2025. Local farmers saw a chance to acquire familiar machines, while international buyers gained access to reliable European equipment.

For the northeast, GroeNoord’s closure marked the end of an era. Yet through Troostwijk Auctions, its machines continue to work new fields, carrying forward the dealer’s legacy in workshops and farms both near and far.
