The Rivièra Maison Auction

The Rivièra Maison Auction

When iconic interiors found new homes

Few brands in Dutch retail carried the same allure as Rivièra Maison. Known for its warm, elegant interiors, it offered customers more than furniture: it offered a lifestyle. That world changed in early 2025 when the company was declared bankrupt, and the contents of its stores and distribution center went under the hammer through Troostwijk Auctions.

From sofas and dining tables to lamps and decorative accessories, every piece was made available. “Everything must go,” the listings announced, and bidders responded in their thousands.

While the brand continues in a new form, its physical stores in Rotterdam, Laren, Arnhem, and Breda closed for good. The auctions became the final chance to step into those curated interiors and bring them home.

For design lovers, it was a rare opportunity to acquire authentic Rivièra Maison pieces at auction prices. For Troostwijk, it was the delicate balance of closing one chapter while opening another.

As lots found their way into living rooms and gardens across the country, the brand’s spirit lived on, not in shop windows but in the homes of those who believed that living beautifully should always be possible.
