Description
Kees Salentijn: (Amsterdam 1947) is a painter, collagist and draftsman. Salentijn studied at the Amsterdam State Academy of Visual Arts, department of free painting with Otto de Kat (1907) and at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. Salentijn focuses on unconscious, spontaneous creation in his work and feels an affinity with various movements that do the same, including Cobra. Another important influence is his love for Spanish life: bullfighting, beaches, festivals and landscapes that are typical of Spain are omnipresent in his work.
