About this lot

(The old NL-License plate is XV-016-G)
Remarks:
>> Following several generations of Scimitar, Reliant launched the noticeably more modern SS1 in 1984. Designed as a swan song by the Italian studio Michelotti, with a chassis derived from nothing less than the Lotus Elan. There was some criticism about the drastically different styling, but thanks to that Lotus base you have a great weight distribution (engine behind the front wheels, gearbox under the gear lever and seats just in front of the rear axle). This roadster is also made with easy-to-disassemble plastic parts and a galvanized chassis (a hard-top was also available). The first versions came with 1300 or 1600cc Ford engines, later replaced by one 1.4-liter (Ford CVH). But Nissan also supplied an engine, namely the 1.8-liter top-of-the-range version with turbocharger, fuel injection and electronic ignition. If you know anything about cars, then you know that Nissan knows something about turbos. _ _ _ But the 'Sabre' is a special version, only made from 1992 to '95, for which they dusted off that extra sword designation. You could only get it as 1.4 or 1.8, and in 1993 a small update followed. You can recognize a Sabre by the larger 15-inch wheels that house in modified and wider wheel arches. During about 10 years of production, only 1507 were made (SS1, SST and Sabre). _ _ _ So our offer is that special and therefore rare Sabre; In a beautiful color, as an update/facelift from 1994, with the top 1.8-liter turbo engine, five-speed manual gearbox and equipped with a hardtop plus what looks like insanely few kilometers driven. Feel free to come and admire and inspect this automotive curiosity for yourself; during a reserved viewing moment! _ _ _ _ _ So, this lot shows moderate to normal signs of use (or during the viewing 'Viewing day' you can form a possibly important opinion of your own) and is further equipped with; fairly extensive official Dutch and Italian History (see photos). _ _ _ You have to make a reservation for that Viewing Day (because sometimes lots are moved) and that is in the first instance by e-mail to info@HaspengouwClassics.eu (If the official moment really does not fit, we may find another option.) _ _ _ The Pick-up is standard in Hasselt (BE), and in order to run smoothly it is also mandatory to first request via the same e-mail address (info@HaspengouwClassics.eu). Remember, when it comes to vintage cars, project cars, cars that stand still for a while or exceptional vehicles; that you come and pick up well prepared! We can arrange transport on request. All dates are subject to change.
