About this lot

Remarks:
>> A Jensen Interceptor was perhaps the world's first hypercar, a Veyron 'avant la lettre'. Because with his gigantic V8 in that very striking and sharply lined body, he was still a second or 2 faster to that devilish 100, and 10 kilometers further after an hour than the rest of his time rivals (that twisted Jaguar E-Type V12 aside). Moreover, the Jensen really cost a lot of human organs, for example you can 'spot' him on the richest person in the world in the movie 'All The Money in The World'. In any case, the Interceptor is an 'old school' Gran Turismo, hyper or otherwise, that was built 'by hand' by Jensen Motors between 1966 and '76, at Kelvin Way (West Bromwich, England). The Italians of Carrozzeria Touring were responsible for the bodywork, and early Interceptors therefore came from Vignale, before Jensen took over as well (with minor modifications). There was already a Jensen with the same name, but it came from the Carters Green factory from 1950 to '57. _ _ _ The power of this retro sports coupé lies in the combination of British know-how with American muscle power, with Chrysler serving as supplier of the 8 cylinders. For the Mark III, from 1971 onwards, they went from an already punchy 6.3-liter (383 cubic inch) to an all-crushing 7 point 2 (440 cubic inch). The third version of this Jensen also received a revised grille, modified lights, bumpers and seats, among other things. Fitted with GKN rims and air conditioning as standard, while the jargon talks about a G, H or J 'series' depending on the year of production. _ _ _ Our Mark III comes from the collection of a businessman/car enthusiast and has been protected in the warehouse for a long time, but can normally still start and drive from its hibernation (provided battery booster and start pilot). Otherwise, come and admire and inspect it for yourself; during a reserved viewing moment! _ _ _ _ _ So, this lot shows moderate signs of wear, especially considering its age (or during the viewing 'Viewing day' you can form a possibly important opinion of your own) and is also equipped with 1 SET of keys, plus its vintage Manual and some extra parts. _ _ _ You have to make a reservation for that Viewing Day (because sometimes lots are moved) and that is in the first instance by e-mail to info@HaspengouwClassics.eu (If the official moment really does not fit, we may find another option.) _ _ _ The Pick-up is standard in Hasselt (BE), and in order to run smoothly it is also mandatory to first request via the same e-mail address (info@HaspengouwClassics.eu). Remember, when it comes to vintage cars, project cars, cars that stand still for a while or exceptional vehicles; that you come and pick up well prepared! We can arrange transport on request. All dates are subject to change.
