Jaguar XK140 Fixed Head Coupé SE 'motor-competition'

>> The XK140 is a vintage sports car, produced by Jaguar between 1954 and 1957, as a successor to the hugely successful XK120 (and later replaced by the 150). Technically, the XK140 was very similar to its predecessor, but the biggest difference was in terms of comfort and ease of driving. Where its predecessor mainly focused on speed, the XK140 focused more on comfort. Powered by the William Heynes-designed 3.4-litre Jaguar XK inline-6 engine with twin overhead camshafts, and the Special Equipment modifications of the XK120, brought the specified power up to (a spectacular for the time) 190 hp, at 5500 rpm. The optional C-Type cylinder head was also carried over from the XK120 catalogue and was then able to deliver 210 hp, at a slightly increased 5750 rpm. This XK140 has such a C-Type, in addition to 2-inch H8 carburetors, heavier torsion rods and twin exhaust pipes. Therefore, the car was designated XK140 SE in the UK, and as XK140 'MC' in North America. _ _ _ It's a beautiful classic, truly sublime, as you can see, but also rare. And moreover with a real history, because this type (an SE, with 'motor-competition' and the 4-Speed manual + overdrive) was one of the fastest production cars of its time. The limited production was mostly used in racing, and we are talking about a (mentioned) three-time winner of Le Mans! _ _ _ Our particular vehicle was first in the showroom at Jaguar America, until it was registered in 1961 by Donald Fezekas (i.e. the 1st owner). Around the turn of the century, Donald decided to restore his first love 'body-off', but unfortunately he fell ill during that process. In the end, we were able to finish his work. And a new owner can therefore acquire a truly spectacular automotive collector's item! The counter stands at "60,575" miles.
