Description
Anton Vrede (born December 6, 1953 in Willemstad, Curaçao) is a Dutch visual artist of Antillean-Surinamese descent, who works as a painter, graphic artist, illustrator and sculptor in an expressionistic, figurative, sometimes abstract style. In Anton Vrede's work, animal figures often play a leading role, with the different figures having their own meaning. [1] In his paintings and prints, he entrusts a naïve, fairytale world to the canvas or paper with smooth brushstrokes.
