This website is managed by Troostwijk Veilingen B.V., established at Overschiestraat 59, 1062 XD in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 33260728 (“Troostwijk Auctions”).

Troostwijk handles personal data not only with the greatest possible care, but also in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and any other applicable laws and regulations. Troostwijk will only process and use personal data to achieve the objectives as stated in this Privacy Policy and to take all the necessary measures to ensure that your personal data is treated securely.

Troostwijk is responsible for the processing of personal data it receives. This Privacy Statement sets out (i) the basis on which we process personal data we collect from you, (ii) the purpose of data processing in the context of our website, and (iii) the rights you have in this respect when using our services and website.

Personal data processing

Troostwijk Auctions collects the following personal data:

  • Name;
  • Date of birth;
  • Company position;
  • E-mail address;
  • Telephone number;
  • Business details;
  • VAT registration number;
  • Billing information;
  • Log files user account (MyTroostwijk);
  • Bidding activity and payment history;
  • Financial transaction data;
  • E-mail preferences;
  • IP-address.

When you have contracted us to organise and facilitate assessments and auctions, or when you want to register for an account (MyTroostwijk), you are required to provide Troostwijk Auctions with personal data. Please note that if you do not provide us with your personal data, you will not be able to use the products or services offered by Troostwijk Auctions.

In addition to the above-mentioned personal data, Troostwijk Auctions collects:

  • Any personal data you send to us via email;
  • Any personal data made public on (business) social networking sites, such as LinkedIn and Facebook.

Purposes of processing personal data

Troostwijk Auctions uses your personal data inasmuch as required:

  • To carry out or to prepare an agreement with you, including:
    • To fulfil the sign-up process of MyTroostwijk account to allow Users to bid on auctions organised by Troostwijk Veilingen;
    • To complete the bidding process (order, payment, invoicing and contact);
    • To store data in the Troostwijk Database (T.O.M.) making (future) participation easier; and
    • To respond to service related questions and requests.
  • For our own legitimate business purposes and needs. Specifically, we may use your information to:
    • Maintain contact with visitors and associates of Troostwijk Veilingen;
    • Analyse, improve and secure the website; and
    • Send you notifications, such as communications regarding the changes on our website.

Where Troostwijk Auctions proposes using your personal information for any marketing purposes, such as newsletters and auction updates, we will ask for your permission unless you have already given it to us. Recipients of personal data

Troostwijk Auctions may provide your personal data to third parties in order to achieve the above-mentioned objectives. Troostwijk Auctions provides the following information to third parties:

  • Vero: enables email communications with Users;
  • Flowmailer: enables email communications with Users;
  • Primarily Exact: used to settle payments with Users;
  • Freshdesk: customer support software;
  • Web hosting providers: maintenance of the website.

Sensitive personal data

Troostwijk Auctions will not collect and/or process sensitive data, such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinion, religious beliefs and genetic information.

Transfer of personal data

Troostwijk Auctions will process personal data it collects as much as possible in the European Union. Troostwijk Auctions may transfer personal data to countries outside of the European Union. Transfers of personal data to countries outside of the European Union are permitted only to other countries that offer a similar level of data protection by contract or adhere to an approved code of conduct or an approved certification mechanism.


Troostwijk Auctions has appropriate technical and organisational safeguards in place to protect your personal information against loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected. Troostwijk Auctions will only keep personal data for a purpose(s) that is specific and clearly stated, and the data will only be processed in a manner compatible with this purpose.

  • Troostwijk Auctions requires its registered users to verify their identity (e.g. login ID and password) before they can access their account;
  • Access to personal data requires the use of a login ID and login token;
  • Your personal data is contained behind secured networks;
  • Log and track access to personal data.

Data retention

Troostwijk Auctions will not store personal details longer than necessary for the purposes of processing personal data. Troostwijk Auctions keeps a maximum term of 10 (ten) years after the last time the account was active.
