About this lot

Features: The rare Twiggy drives are in the Apple Lisa. The Lisa is complete with all boards, motherboard, CPU board, IO board, 2 x Memory Boards, parallel interface card. It comes with a 5MB Profile, original keyboard and original mouse. The various books are included with the Apple Lisa, these are only the books without the software. As info: Rare Apple Lisa 1. This is one of the first Apple computers ever made, and part of computer history. The very first GUI machine ever produced. The Apple Lisa 1 machine was revolutionary because it was the first PC that allowed users to interact with the device using the mouse. Although it came with a bulky external hard drive with 5MB of memory - roughly enough to store one song - the 1983 machine was state-of-the-art at the time. It was the brainchild of Steve Jobs who came up with the idea of the mouse and icons after seeing a prototype of a similar Xerox computer while visiting the base in the Silicone Valley. Xerox never put theirs into production, unlike Apple, which sold 100,000 Lisa-1s. Apple said the name Lisa stood for Local Integrated System Architecture, but Jobs later revealed that he named it after his first daughter Lisa, who was born in 1978. A year later, the Lisa-1 was replaced by the Lisa-2, and owners of the first version returned theirs for a free upgrade. The recalled computers were destroyed and as a result, it is estimated that between 30 and 100 Lisa-1s exist today.
Remarks:
Note: The Apple Lisa does not turn on. As a result, the Apple Lisa has not been tested and has been left in its original possible condition. This unit is not in working order and is sold as is. It is in beautiful cosmetic condition, with only slight yellowing.

Frequently asked questions

How do I place a bid?

You can easily participate in the auction through the website. Log in as usual and navigate to the lot of your choice. On the right side of the screen, you will find 'Bid' and 'Auto Bid.' Click on 'How does this work' for more information about automatic bidding.

Click on 'Bid' to see the total amount of your bid, including the buyer's premium and VAT. After accepting the general terms and user conditions by checking the box, click 'Confirm' to place the bid.

What is reserve price?

A reserve price is the (non-visible!) minimum amount that a seller has set for a lot and is the lowest price for which the seller is willing to sell. The highest bidder who meets or exceeds this price wins.

If this price is not met, you can still have a chance to win. The closer your bid is to the reserve price, the greater your chance of winning this lot.

The lot is awarded to the highest bidder whose bid is equal to - or higher than - the reserve price at the end of the auction. If the highest bid has met the reserve price or more, the lot is sold immediately for this price.

What costs are added to my bid?

In addition to your bid, additional costs are incurred in the form of a buyer's premium percentage and VAT. These percentages vary depending on the country. VAT is applied to both your bid and the buyer's premium. Before confirming your bid, you will always receive an overview detailing all relevant amounts associated with your bid, including the final total. This way, you are fully informed about the total amount of your bid.

What is an auto bid versus a manual bid?

An auto bid is a way for you to automatically participate in a bidding process. You enter an amount you are willing to pay for an item and then automatic bids are placed for you up to your maximum bid - but only if necessary. Your maximum bid is hidden from other bidders during the auction. Placed auto bids are indicated by an "A" after the placed bid in the bid history. You need to update a manual bid every time someone outbids you. Keep in mind that an auto bid in the same level as a later manual bid will always lead the auction - because it was placed first.
